History

Changed and Be Changed, Inc., was incorporated in 2014 in Ohio and received its 501(c)3 tax-exempt status in 2015. The organization’s commitment to Kaseye started in 2012 with an invitation extended to Elisabeth by Peter Daino, her friend and supervisor at Lusubilo Community-Based Orphan Care Program, where Elisabeth worked from 2006-2009. At the time, Kaseye Community Hospital was struggling to stay open. CABC’s first contribution to the hospital consisted in a basic x-ray room installed by engineering students of Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, under the leadership of Dr. Thomas Hangartner. In the following years, one project followed another, and the development opportunities at Kaseye Community Hospital are by no means exhausted as of 2020, but, unfortunately, they have been slowed down by the coronavirus pandemic.
